Episode 12

Chapter Eleven - Radical Listening

When was the last time you listened solely for the purpose of listening? Nearly always, we listen with an agenda to get something we want or avoid losing something we already have. Radical listening is the powerful practice of listening solely for the sake of listening.

When you get agitated or scared, listening leaves the building like a rat running from a fire. This is precisely the uncomfortable moment for you to pause and listen without preparing a response. As a coach once told me, practice makes permanent not perfect. If you want to listen better, then pause and practice differently.
